What I AM talking about is the Republican debates and THEIR definition of marriage.
Why does its meaning have to be overly politicized?
Why can't we separate the idea of legal marriage from religious marriage?
Considering our 1st Amendment, why do people think by making gay marriage a federally legal act, churches will HAVE to marry people of the same sex?
Why is a fight for gay marriage a war against religion?
(I confess... I am a gay man that believes in God and His teachings)
Why can't we just use our GOD GIVEN NOGGINS and do the right thing?!?!
It took us awhile, but we finally figured out that slavery was BAD! (The Bible talks of slavery like it's no big deal)
HELLO, we decided that women should be created equal (In Biblical times, women were basically slaves without benefits...history tells some wives getting less dick than the slaves)
What are people afraid of? You can only bend the willing and straight is straight...can't make 'im straighter!
Personally, I have no desire to be legally married without the religious wedlock that goes with it, but I'm not stupid enough to think this will come from a legal perspective. Religious doctrine is what it is, and can only change when the Church no longer counts on an ever growing population to fill its congregation (and coffers). Equal rights under the law is a completely separate issue from equal rights under God.
Let's first fight for something we can win, that being federally legal unions, for those that want/need it. THEN, if you've still got an itch up that ass of yours no cock can quite scratch, lets all sit and pray together as one big UNIT. NOT for acceptance or peace and love for everyone, or any of that stupid bullshit that will never happen. What we really gotta pray for is that our next Pope (the one after this old fart keels over), is a big ol', pole smok'n homosexual with a big dick and a tight ass. COME ON GUYS, Lord knows there's enough of them priests wanking around the halls of the Vatican (not to mention choir practice) to pull a cock train from here to the great divide! We just need one (ONE GODDAMMIT) to rise to meet more than a sweet, swishing, gloriously round mound of boy ass (their opinion, not mine...I like MEN) and actually rise to POWER! Can't one priest keep his goddamn dick in his cloth long enough to kneel before Peter, himself, and suck him long time?!?!?
